The Lean Practice Coach

Do the right things. Do things right.

Lean Principles

The principles of Lean were first developed by Toyota in what is called the Toyota Production System. This system has enabled Toyota to rise from #7 to #1 in global market share in automobiles in the last 20 years. The implementation of Lean for Doctors differs from that of an assembly line (as it should). The Lean principles are directly applicable to Doctors and their practices.

These principles are:

1.      Continuous improvement

2.      Focus on the producer.

3.      The elimination of waste.

4.      Visual workplace.

5.      Customer satisfaction.

6.      Quality at the source.

7.      Management by fact.

The effects of the application of these principles are increased effectiveness and increased efficiency.

The benefits you should expect from your on-site, customized coaching include increased patient satisfaction, more new patients, a functional referral program, a functional recall system, better patient retention, improved team cohesiveness, increased team function, clarification of roles and responsibilities, increased practitioner satisfaction and most importantly; increased and increasing profits.

We call that “Do the right things and do things right”.
